SpiceMyStory is a personalised romance novel company based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide when ordering from us.
When you place an order we collect: your name and email address, delivery address, payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card details), and the personalisation details you provide for your book (character names, memories, dedication message, and preferences). If you apply for or use our affiliate programme, we may also collect affiliate account details such as your name, email address, website or social profile, referral link activity, commission records, and payout details needed to manage the programme.
We use your information to process and fulfil your order, send you order confirmation and tracking updates, respond to any questions or issues you raise, prevent fraud, and manage our affiliate programme where relevant. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your personalisation details for any purpose other than producing your book, handling support, reprints, or order-related checks.
If you visit our website through an affiliate or referral link, we may process referral information so we can attribute an approved completed order to the correct affiliate. This may include a referral identifier, affiliate identifier, visit date/time, order value, and commission status. Affiliate referral data is used only to operate, review, and administer the Spice My Story affiliate programme.
We retain your order information for 7 years as required by UK tax law. Your personalisation details are retained for 12 months after your order in case of reprints, then securely deleted.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the ICO. To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@spicemystory.com.
